Rooster joined the CRK residence in April 2025. Rooster was surrendered to the Rutland County Humane Society a year prior, April 2024. Rooster was slated for euthanasia due to his behavioral and physical demands, which the shelter did not have the means to address. Thankfully, Maven Dog Training stepped in and took care of Rooster. He received a double hip replacement as well as daily training for the year he spent at Maven. after his second surgery for his double hip replacement, he was posted online for adoption inquiries. We saw him and knew that he needed a home with a strong understanding of Carolina Dogs. We drove 20 hours there and back to bring him home and the rest is history! Through pedigree tracking and process of elimination, we were able to figure out Rooster's (possible) sire and dam. Rooster has obtained 1 title and may continue to dabble in sports, but above all, he is a beloved pet.

In August 2025, Rooster (right) earned his first title! His UKC "RACEN" title in precision coursing.
When Rooster does tag along to shows with the CRK crew, he can be founded cuddling with his best friend, Juke Box.
