Tengu's hot streak!
Tengu made his AKC Conformation debut at the AKC Winston - Salem open show(s) and he brought the HEAT! Tengu walked away with 3/4 Group ones/best In FSS wins as well as 3/4 Best In Open Show wins! He closed out his CM his first weekend out and we couldn't be prouder! After a few days off, he traveled to North Carolina for 10 more open shows and he did NOT disappoint! Tengu 9/10 group ones/Best In FSS wins and 7/10 Best In open Show wins! This gave Tengu the points he needed for his CM2 as well as 13/15 points towards his CM3! truly a remarkable debut! We have several more AKC shows and clusters lined up for this year, as well as a few UKC shows! We are thrilled with Tengu's achievements and cannot wait to see what else 2026 holds for him!
New year, new titles!
After receiving Tengu's AKC registration at the beginning of this year, we started checking off boxes! In just three months, Tengu has closed out FOURTEEN new titles, along with making progress towards closing out several more! We are thrilled to celebrate Tengu closing out the following AKC titles:

Tengu has also earned 7/15 points towards his CM5! He made his AKC conformation debut at the beginning of March 2026, as of April 28th, 2026- he has attended 24 AKC Open Shows and has earned 21 Best In FSS/Group One placements as well as 18 Best In Open Shows! Setting new breed records and achieving the breeds first CM4! He is currently the only Carolina Dog pointed towards the CM5.
Big wins in the big ring!
Tengu has continued to impress us this year with his achievements in the show ring! Tengu completed his CM5 title in AKC conformation with Three more Best In Open Show wins at the Virgina First Colony Cluster! He is the first and only Carolina Dog to achieve this title and we couldn't be prouder! Additionally, Tengu showed in UKC in July and kept his winning up! He took home one group two placement, three group one placements, and one Reserve Best In Show! Tengu is closing in on his UKC Ruby GRCH title and really showing he means business when he steps into the ring!
These wins come after Tengu took Best of Breed at the CDSA 2026 National Breed specialty in Kalamazoo, MI at UKC Premier Nationals. Tengu also won the Grand Champion class 3/3 times and went Best Of breed 3/3 times. Tengu took Best of Breed for the National Top ten competition, where he then advanced to semi finals and was 1 of 20 dogs selected to move to finals. Tengu made breed history June 11th, 2026 by becoming the first and only Carolina Dog to place in UKC Top Ten Finals, taking 9th out of over 400 dogs! Tengu is truly a special boy. he loves showing and it shows everytime he steps in the ring.
Obedience gains!
Juke Box and Tengu have stepped back into the AKC obedience ring several times this year! Earlier in the year- Tengu earned his AKC BN title in AKC Beginner Novice B Obedience, making him the FIRST male Carolina Dog to title in AKC Obedience.
At the end of June, Juke Box and Tengu hit the ring again and made more progress towards their individual OB goals. Tengu earned his first leg towards his AKC CD title in AKC Novice A Obedience with a first place win! Juke Box earned her second leg towards her AKC PCD title in Preferred Novice OB with a third place win!
Most recently in August 2026, Juke Box finished off her AKC PCD title with a second place win! This is Juke's 56th title earned in her dog sport career and we couldn't be prouder! Juke Box will now be trialing in AKC Open, which no Carolina Dog has ever titled in before! We cannot wait to see what Juke does in Open as Tengu continues to work towards his CD title in the Novice B division.

Old dog, new tricks!
Puck joined our kennel just three months ago at twelve years of age and he is already making big moves! Puck started attending conformation classes and recently attended his first ever UKC conformation show! He showed in four back to back shows and earned 60 points towards his UKC championship title! He needs a total of 100 points and 3 competition wins to title and he is already well on his way to meeting those requirements! All four judges had nothing but positive things to say regarding Puck in regards to his temperament, structure, and overall type. Puck has also earned his first two AKC titles, his TKN (Trick Dog Novice) and VHMA (Virtual home Manners Adult)! These titles reflect Puck's biddability, manners, and his relationship with us as his owners! While these titles may not be impressive to most- we are endlessly impressed with how vibrant and adventurous Puck is at his age! We cannot wait to see what he accomplishes next!
