"Are Carolina Dogs a vocal breed?
Carolina Dogs are not considered a vocal breed. There are situations where a Carolina Dog will bark to alert those around them to a situation they feel deserves attention, but as far as nuisance barking or vocalizing out of boredom- you don't have to worry about that with a Carolina Dog! A Carolina Dog can be expected to bark when an unfamiliar person enters their property, they will also typically bark when playing.
"Are Carolina Dogs prone to aggression?"
Carolina dogs are not genetically predisposed to aggression. They should be aloof, never aggressive. The breed standard outlines any form of aggression or viciousness as a disqualification. Human aggression, dog aggression, and same-sex aggression are all highly uncharacteristic of the breed. The breed should be tolerant of examination from judges as well as groomers and veterinarians. The Carolina Dog should also be able to co-exist with other dogs of all breeds and sizes, weather in home or out in public. This is a breed that opts to not engage and remain as neutral as possible in any given environment, as the tend to refrain from drawing attention to themselves. reactivity can come about is not properly socialized. This breed should not be expected to be particularly social, but should never pose a threat to those around it.
